Connecting To The 802.1X Network

When viewing the available Wi-Fi networks in your area, you may see one that has the following characters: (802.1X).  In order to connect to it, you first need to have an account.

If you've already registered for an account with the device you're using to connect to 802.1X, then you're good to go; if you haven't, connect to the regular wireless network first and follow these steps before attempting to connect to the 802.1X network.  Also, please be sure that you have already added your other devices to your account. See this article for assistance with adding a device to your account.

If your device was just added to your account, be patient as you attempt to connect to the 802.1X network.  There may a brief period during which the network is validating your account login information in order to grant access to this device.  No need for concern. Please be aware that not all devices will be compatible for a connection to 802.1X due to the level of encryption on the network.

If you already have an account or have just created one, in either case make sure to note your username and password as you'll need them to authenticate yourself on the 802.1X network.

Android

These directions are for Android 4.1.X and higher.

1. Go to Settings on your device. Then click on Wi-Fi. You'll see a list of available networks.
• The regular wireless network generally has this structure: "PropertyNameWireless"
• The 802.1X wireless network will appear as this: "PropertyName (802.1X)". Choose this one. 
2. After selecting the 802.1x network, you'll get prompted with a window full of information.
• You'll only need to change/add the following fields:
• Identity: Enter your username you used to register on our network
• Password: Enter the password associated to the username you used to register on our network
3. Click Connect and you'll be able to authenticate correctly.

iOS - iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch

1. Go to Settings on your iOS device. Then click on Wi-Fi. You'll see a list of available networks.
• The regular wireless network generally has this structure: "PropertyNameWireless"
• The 802.1X wireless network will appear as this: "PropertyName (802.1X)". Choose this one.
2. After selecting the 802.1X network, you'll quickly get prompted to enter a username and password to authenticate. Your username and password is the same one you used when you registered to be on our network. Click "Join" once you've entered in your username and password. 
3. If this is the first time you've connected to the 802.1X network, you'll have to accept the certificate for this secure connection. Click Accept to accept. 
4. Congratulations! You're now connected to the 802.1X network!

Mac OS X

1. Locate your Wifi icon in the top menu bar in Mac OS X
2. Click and search for your property's wireless network; you'll see two networks.
• The regular wireless network generally has this structure: "PropertyNameWireless"
• The 802.1X wireless network will appear as this: "PropertyName (802.1X)". Choose this one. 
3. After selecting the 802.1X network, you'll quickly get prompted to enter a username and password to authenticate. Your username and password is the same one you used when you registered to be on the network. Click "Join" once you've entered in your username and password.
• If you wish to always connect to this network, select "Remember this network". This will ensure that you don't have to enter your username/password every time you connect to the 802.1X wireless network.
4. If this is the first time you've connected to the 802.1x network, you'll have to accept the certificate for this secure connection. Click Continue to accept. 
5. Depending upon your computer settings, you may be prompted next to enter your Mac's username and password. This is simply to add the secure network to your Mac settings. Then click "Update Settings".
6. Congratulations! You're now connected to the 802.1X network!

Windows Vista, 7

1. Locate your wireless network icon in the lower right hand corner of your desktop. Click on the icon to expand the list of available wireless networks.
2. Click and search for your property's wireless network; you'll see two networks.
3. The regular wireless network generally has this structure: "PropertyNameWireless"
4. The 802.1X wireless network will appear as this: "PropertyName (802.1X)". Choose this one.
5. After selecting the 802.1X network, you'll quickly get prompted to enter a username and password to authenticate. Your username and password is the same one you used when you registered to be on the network. Click "OK" once you've entered in your username and password.
6. Congratulations! You're now connected to the 802.1X network!

Note: If you get prompted with a warning asking you to Terminate or Connect, choose Connect.

Windows 8

1. Locate your wireless network icon in the lower right hand corner of your desktop. Click on the icon to expand the list of available wireless networks.
2. Click and search for your property's wireless network; you'll see two networks.
• The regular wireless network generally has this structure: "PropertyNameWireless"
• The 802.1X wireless network will appear as this: "PropertyName (802.1X)". Choose this one.
3. After selecting the 802.1X network, you'll quickly get prompted to enter a username and password to authenticate. Your username and password is the same one you used when you registered to be on our network. Click "OK" once you've entered in your username and password.
4. If this is the first time you've connected to the 802.1X network, you'll have to accept the certificate for this secure connection. Click Continue to accept.
5. Congratulations! You're now connected to the 802.1X network!
